Are you too busy?

When we survey working moms who have involvement with Restored, much of the feedback related to daily challenges centers on time management and busyness. If you fall into this camp, read this article from the Institute for Faith, Work & Economics. It clearly lays out a Christ-centered perspective of busyness, it’s negative effects and how we can lean into the Bible’s teachings around productivity.

If you don’t know your limit and consistently stretch yourself too thin, causing a lack of quality in your work, then God is not being maximally glorified through your schedule or your work. There may be a great quantity of work in your life, but if the quality is compromised then the impact of the work is limited, counterproductive, and potentially self-destructive.

There are certain responsibilities that each of us must carry out. We must do the laundry. We must chauffeur kids to and from school. We must show up for work and perform our roles well. We must prioritize our spouse.

But there are other things within the realm of our control that we can choose to eliminate - even when those things are good.

Each “no” that we utter to something good within our schedule, can free us to say “yes” to something great.
