Working Mom Spotlight: Torri Mims

Name: Torri Mims

Occupation: Entrepreneur & SAHM

Number of kids: 2

Favorite candy bar: Reese’s

Tell us about your family, and what’s your childcare solution?  This year, my husband and I will be celebrating 10 years together and five years married. We have two beautiful girls who are 16 months apart. Hope is getting ready to turn three in March and Rhylee is almost 18-months. When we had Hope, I left my full-time traveling job in dialysis to be a full-time SAHM.

Where do you work, and what is a typical workday like for you?  I am the founder of Three Eighty One Financial Services, which offers tax services, financial literacy, credit repair and restoration as well as helping others start their own credit repair business right from the comfort of their own home. I also help my husband run his parents’ family care home to assist adults with mental illness in Holly Springs, N.C.

Share some of your goals – personal or professional.
My professional goals for this year:

  • Grow my clientele.

  • Help as many people as I can to restore their credit so that they can have financial freedom.

  • Help at least 20 women start their own business.

My personal goals for this year:

  • Continue to find that healthy work/home balance (I can be a workaholic).

  • Take my family on a vacation.

  • Read at least 20 books.

  • Continue to grow as much as possible spiritually.

What motivates you to work? How do you like to relax?

  • I love hiking and being outdoors in nature.

  • Wine, popcorn and catching up on some of my favorite shows

What is your favorite part of motherhood?  There are so many things that I love about motherhood, but I would have to say that my most favorite part is being able to spend time with my girls day in and day out, teaching them how to love the Lord and praying with them. Seeing their little hands pray at every meal and before bedtime is just the most heartwarming feeling.

What does Restored mean to you? How has it impacted you personally? Restored is a special place for me to connect with other women who are like myself and juggle a lot in their everyday life. I love having this time to love the Lord and dive into his word with other women. It is easy to get caught up in day to day life, but Restored has given me a more structured way to study and spend time with the Lord. I find that my time in the Bible is more meaningful because I am reading with really useful study guidelines that help me dissect and be more intentional with what i’m reading.

What is one of your favorite Restored events to date? Why is it your favorite? I have really enjoyed the Bible studies. But sadly, I have not been able to make it to any in person events yet. I am hopeful I can make it to one soon. I would love to connect with all the lovely women in person as soon as possible.

Can you share how you overcome challenges related to the “mom chaos” that settles in when you feel pulled in 100 directions? I am still trying to navigate what works best for me. I feel like as soon as I get something down, it changes and I need to start trying something new. Overall though, routines make a big difference and it really helps me get more done and maintain structure.

Besides your faith and family, what are you passionate about?

Health and fitness. I have been vegan for four years now and I love working out whether it’s weight lifting, walking or hiking. Give me all the endorphins!
